Twitch Bits to USD Converter

Two sides of the same Bit: what the streamer earns, what the viewer pays — plus the cheapest pack combination for any cheer goal.

The short answer

Formula. US dollars paid to the streamer = Bits × $0.01 — Twitch's fixed payout rate of one cent per Bit.

Example. 10,000 Bits = $100.00 to the streamer; a viewer buying 1,000 Bits pays $14.00 using two 500-Bit packs, the cheapest combination.

How Bits pricing actually works

Cheering with Bits is Twitch's built-in tipping system. The part that confuses everyone: a Bit is worth exactly one US cent to the streamer — 100 Bits puts $1.00 in the creator's pocket, 10,000 Bits puts $100.00 there. That rate never changes with pack size.

What changes with pack size is what the viewer pays. A 100 Bits pack costs about $1.40 (1.40¢ per Bit), while a 25,000 Bits pack works out to about 1.23¢ per Bit. Twitch keeps the gap between the purchase price and the one-cent-per-Bit payout. Buying in the Android or iOS app costs more still, because the app-store fee is baked into mobile prices — the website is always the cheaper counter.

The goal calculator above puts those two facts together: for any number of Bits you want in the chat, it tests every combination of packs and shows the cheapest one, including whether buying one bigger pack and "overshooting" the goal costs less than patching the exact amount with small packs. It often does.

Bits FAQs

How much is 1,000 Bits worth?

$10.00 to the streamer. The viewer paid somewhere between $12.60 and $14.00 for them depending on pack sizes — the calculator above shows the cheapest mix.

How much is 10,000 Bits in money?

$100.00 paid to the streamer. Buying 10,000 Bits as a single pack costs about $126.00 on the web — an effective $1.26 per 100 Bits.

Do streamers pay tax on Bits?

Bit payouts are income, so yes — Twitch reports creator earnings, and tax handling depends on the creator's country and business setup. This page only does the arithmetic; it is not tax advice.

Are Bits the cheapest way to support a streamer?

Not always. Subscriptions and direct tips (on platforms with lower fees) can deliver more per dollar — roughly 40% of a small Bits purchase goes to Twitch before the creator is paid. Many viewers mix: subs for the emotes, Bits for hype moments.
